Cookie policy

Polivoz wishes to inform you that this Conference Cycle platform uses cookies and other forms of storage on your device. Unlike common practice, they are not used here for navigation statistics or advertising: they are limited to what is necessary to provide the service, plus a single item of external video content that only loads if you authorise it. This policy describes each of those elements and how you can withdraw your choice at any time.

Last updated: 26 July 2026 · Version: 2026-07-26

Statement of non-use

  • We use no navigation-statistics or audience-analytics tools. There is no Google Analytics or equivalent service.
  • We use no advertising, tracking pixels or tag managers.
  • We do not record your session or your cursor movements, and we run no version-comparison tests.
  • We build no profiles about you and take no automated decisions regarding you.
  • We do not transfer or disclose your data for advertising purposes.
  • We do not keep your cookie choice in any database, nor link it to your account, your IP address or any device identifier.
  • The interface typefaces are served from our own server: browsing the site contacts no external font provider. The only exception is the PDF viewer, which for certain documents may request a standard typeface belonging to the document itself from unpkg.com, as detailed below.

1.1. What are cookies?

When browsing the internet, small items of information are sometimes stored on your computer or device, such as temporary files or cookies. Each cookie belongs to the browser you use and contains data such as an identifier and the name of the site, along with some figures. You do not provide that information directly: it is collected automatically in support of your visit.

These items are intended to make browsing more efficient and straightforward, allowing the site to recognise you on later visits or to keep the preferences you have indicated.

In addition to cookies, a site may keep information in the browser's local storage, which serves an equivalent function. This policy covers both forms, because from the standpoint of your privacy what matters is what is kept and for what purpose, not the technical mechanism used.

1.2. What categories exist and which does this site use?

As a general matter, a distinction is drawn between first-party cookies, sent to your device from a domain managed by Polivoz and from which the service you requested is provided, and third-party cookies, sent from a domain managed by another entity, which is then the one processing the information obtained.

By purpose, the usual categories are four. Necessary cookies enable the site's basic functions, such as navigation and access to secure areas, and without them the site cannot work properly. Functional cookies allow additional functionality or personalisation to be offered, and may be set by the site itself or by external providers whose services have been incorporated into its pages. Statistics cookies make it possible to understand, in aggregate form, how visitors interact with the pages. Advertising cookies are used to follow visitors across different sites in order to show them adverts.

Of those four categories, this site uses only the first two: the necessary ones, which do not require consent, and a single functional cookie for external content, the YouTube video player, which stays blocked until you authorise it. No statistics or advertising cookie is used, and therefore there is nothing to authorise in those two categories.

For more information on how Google processes personal data when you give your consent to the video content, you may consult its own privacy policy.

Details of the storage in your browser

The following list is complete. All of these items are first-party, that is, sent by this same site from a domain managed by Polivoz, and none of them is used for advertising or for building profiles. In addition, the library that manages address parameters writes and immediately deletes a probe key (nuqs-localStorage-test) to check whether the browser allows storage: it holds no data and nothing remains stored.

External services your browser communicates with

The following list is complete. Only the first requires your prior consent, and it is the only one that stays blocked until you grant it. The other two deliver content or features you requested and install no cookies, but your IP address does reach their provider, which is why they are declared too.

YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com)

Provider and country
Google, United States
When it loads
Only inside the portal, when you open a video material, and only if you have given your consent. Without it, a notice is shown instead and no request is made.
What leaves your device
Your IP address, information about your browser and device, and the address of the page. It may store identifiers in your browser.
Status and basis
Third party with its own processing. Requires your prior consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

Google Cloud Storage (storage.googleapis.com and firebasestorage.googleapis.com)

Provider and country
Google. The storage infrastructure is Google Cloud's and may be located outside Ecuador, including the United States.
When it loads
When showing speaker photographs and site images, including the home page.
What leaves your device
Your IP address and information about your browser. It installs no cookies or identifiers.
Status and basis
Processor: it is the storage contracted by Polivoz for its own files. This is the content you asked to see, so it is not subject to consent; it is declared for your information.

unpkg.com (PDF document viewer)

Provider and country
unpkg, delivered over Cloudflare's network. It is served from the node nearest you and its origin server was hosted in Brazil at the time of this review; the exact location may vary.
When it loads
Only while signed in, when you open the preview of a material in PDF format.
What leaves your device
Your IP address and information about your browser. We do not use it to track you and we send it no identifier of yours; being an external service, we cannot guarantee its internal behaviour.
Status and basis
Provider of a technical component needed to display the document. Precisely because we cannot audit it, we are working on serving it from our own server and removing this connection.

2. Processing of personal data

When you access the site you will see a notice informing you how you can give or refuse your consent. Refusing is as simple as accepting and both options are presented at the same level, without needing to enter any additional screen in order to decline.

Your choice is kept exclusively in this browser's local storage, under the key cookie_consent. It is not sent to any server, it is not added to any database, it is not linked to your account and neither your IP address nor any fingerprint of your device is recorded. This was decided deliberately: creating an identifier in order to prove that we do not track you would be, precisely, the point at which we started tracking you. The trade-off, which we state transparently, is that if you clear your browser data or use another device we will ask for your consent again.

The data controller is Polivoz, domiciled in Ecuador. For any question about this policy, or to exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability and restriction of processing, you may write to info@polivoz.com. If you believe your request was not handled properly, you may lodge a complaint with Ecuador's Superintendency for Personal Data Protection.

Some of the people taking part in the programme are students who may be minors. If you are under fifteen, your registration and the processing of your data must have the authorisation of your legal representative, to whom this information is also addressed. Nothing described on this page is used to build profiles of minors or to target advertising at them, because we carry out neither of those two activities with anyone.

3. Withdrawal and deletion of cookies

You can change your choice at any time from the preferences section on this same page, as well as from the link available in the footer of every page on the site. The procedure for withdrawing consent is as simple as the one used to obtain it.

When you withdraw consent for external content we stop loading it immediately, the player is removed from the page, including in any other tabs you have open, and, when the change is made from the preferences panel, the page reloads in order to discard code that had already loaded in memory.

There is a technical limit that should be stated: we cannot access information that the external provider may have kept under its own domain. Withdrawal prevents later loads, but to remove what that provider has already stored you must clear the site data from your browser or review the privacy controls of your Google account.

Configuration from your browser

Independently of the above, at any time you can disable or delete the cookies already installed from the settings of the browser you use. Below you will find access to the information pages of the main browsers:

4. Validity of cookies

Depending on how long they stay active on a device, two categories are distinguished. Session cookies are designed to collect and keep data while you access the site, and are used to store information that only needs to be kept while the requested service is being provided. Persistent cookies keep the data on the device for a period defined by the controller, which may range from a few minutes to several years.

On this site, the session-refresh cookies and the language cookie are session cookies and are deleted when you close the browser. The access cookies have a validity of about three hours. For the items saved in local storage, the data is emptied when you sign out or when the corresponding process ends, while the key, now without content, remains until you clear your browser data, as detailed in the list above. Your cookie choice expires after one hundred and eighty days, after which we will ask for your consent again.

You should also bear in mind that some browsers delete site storage on their own for sites you have not visited in a while, so we may ask for your consent again without you having taken any action.

To find out the validity of the cookies and storage downloaded to your device you can check your browser settings, in the privacy and site-data section: it shows what this site has saved, along with its expiry, and from that same place you can delete it. Links to each browser's instructions can be found above.

Your preferences

You can change your choice here at any time. Withdrawing consent is as simple as granting it, is free of charge and requires no justification from you.

Necessary cookies

Necessary cookies help make the site usable by enabling basic functions such as navigation and access to secure areas. The site cannot work properly without them, so they do not require your consent.

Always on
View the necessary cookies
  • Sign-in to the portal and to the admin panel, deleted when you close the browser or when they expire.
  • The language you selected, Spanish or English, essential for serving you the right version of the site.
  • The light or dark theme you chose.
  • Progress in the forms you start, such as registration or password recovery.
  • The record of this very choice about cookies.
  • Control of the published application version, so you are not left on an outdated one.

Functional cookies for external content

These cookies allow the site to offer additional functionality through external providers' services incorporated into our pages. If you do not authorise them, that content will not load and the rest of the site will keep working normally.

View the external content cookies
  • YouTube video player (youtube-nocookie.com), a Google service, present in the portal library materials.
  • Once authorised, Google receives your IP address, information about your browser and device, and the address of the page, and may store identifiers in your browser.
  • The processing takes place in the United States. Polivoz neither receives nor keeps that information.
  • Without your authorisation the player does not load and no request is made to Google's servers.

Statistics and advertising cookies

This site uses none. There are no navigation-statistics tools, advertising, tracking pixels, tag managers, session recording or profiling, so there is nothing to authorise in these two categories.

If you withdraw an authorisation that had been granted, the page will reload: that is the only way to discard external code that had already loaded.

5. Further information

Polivoz may amend this cookie policy, among other reasons, because of legal or regulatory requirements, or in order to align it with the instructions of the competent data protection authority. We therefore recommend reviewing this page periodically to learn of any changes that may have been made.

Where the amendment consists of correcting wording or improving an explanation, we will update the date in the header and your choice will remain in force. Where it affects the substance of what you authorised, because a new external service is incorporated, because different data leaves your device or because a new purpose is added, we will raise the version of the policy and ask for your consent again, with all optional categories switched off once more.

Delete my choice

Completely removes the record kept in this browser. The notice will be shown again as on your first visit and all external content will be blocked once more.
